Description

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the nation's first institution for science and technology, has undergone a transformation during the last decade.  Rensselaer has constructed leading-edge facilities for biotechnology, the convergence of electronic media and the performing arts, and intercollegiate athletics.  Applications to Rensselaer have more than doubled, resulting in increased academic excellence and growing diversity in the recent freshman class.  The momentum generated by this transformation has enabled the Institute to improve its ranking among the top fifty national research universities in the United States.

President Shirley Ann Jackson, Ph.D., has recently appointed Dr. Paul Marthers as the new Vice President for Enrollment.  Dr. Marthers has been Dean of Admission at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, since 2002.  Dr. Marthers has more than twenty-five years of experience in higher and secondary education.  In 2007, The Chronicle of Higher Education selected him as one of "10 admission deans who are shaping their field."

Please join Dr. Marthers as Rensselaer is seeking an experienced Financial Aid professional to support this momentum towards the ongoing transformation of this dynamic institution.

Candidates of greatest interest will be experienced in the development and implementation of innovative financial aid strategies in a high application volume higher education setting, and a demonstrated ability to build a strategic financial aid organization that is committed to helping Rensselaer enroll the strongest students while providing superior customer service to Rensselaer's students and parents.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of directly related experience, including management of staff, strong knowledge of federal, state, institutional and local sources of financial aid and of federal regulations and new developments in Title IV programs, and a knowledge of current financial aid trends, including leveraging to achieve optimal tuition revenue.
